Short story

ChemApp was born from a simple and genuine idea: every chemist, regardless of their background or financial situation, should have free access to high-quality educational resources. Throughout our academic and research journeys, we witnessed how the cost of education can become a barrier for students and aspiring scientists. Too often, access to comprehensive learning materials depends on expensive courses or institutional resources.

We believe that scientific knowledge should never be limited by financial means!

Driven by this conviction and our passion for organic chemistry, we created ChemApp as an open, freely accessible platform dedicated to learning organic synthesis. Our mission is to make essential organic reactions easier to discover, understand, and remember through an educational and user-friendly experience. Whether you are a student preparing for an exam, a researcher refreshing your knowledge, an educator looking for a reliable teaching resource, or simply someone fascinated by chemistry, ChemApp is designed to help you explore, learn, and master the reactions that shape organic synthesis.

After all, doesn't Science advance when knowledge is shared?

The team

Portrait of Eliott Roy Eliott Roy is a French researcher specializing in peptide and protein chemistry. He graduated as a chemical engineer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (ENSCR, France) in 2022, with a specialization in organic chemistry and biotechnology, while also earning an MSc in molecular chemistry from the University of Rennes (France). In 2025, he obtained a PhD in organic chemistry from the Pasteur Institute of Lille, where his research focused on the development of novel tools for chemical protein synthesis.

Currently, he works as postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Biomolecule Max Mousseron (IBMM) in Montpellier (France), where he investigates peptides incorporating non-canonical amino acids to understand their impact on peptide structure.

Portrait of Lilian Estaque Lilian Estaque is a French chemical engineer, graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Rennes (France), where he specialized in organic chemistry and green chemistry. During his final year of engineering studies, he also earned a Master's degree in molecular chemistry from the University of Rennes (France). He started his PhD in 2022 at the Service de Chimie Bioorganique et de Marquage at the CEA of Paris-Saclay, and graduated in 2025.

His research focused on the development of new delayed fluorescent organic molecules capable of emitting circularly polarized light, with the aim of using them in OLED devices. During his PhD, he taught practical sessions at the University of Paris-Saclay, which gave him the motivation to share knowledge with others.

Portrait of Olivier Roy Olivier Roy is the senior member of the team. He holds a degree in training engineering and, since 2010, has worked as an independent consultant, trainer, and coach in the field of risk prevention.

Previously, he spent over 10 years as a project manager in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), during which he supported and supervised more than 200 internet projects.

Passionate about new technologies from a very young age, he remains keenly interested in the latest advancements in the field today.
